renovation

union street

Originally built in the Sherburn Colony in 1735, this house was moved to Union St and is featured in "Old houses of Nantucket".  The house has undergone a few renovations since then but most recently by Barber and Sons, Inc when a long-term client bought the house in the summer of 2015.  The team went to work renovating the living, studio and dining room, as well as the kitchen with reclaimed pine cabinets designed and made in our shop.  Being partially blind, the customer had special considerations which we obliged by using earth tones in the woodwork and fitting the house with voice recognition/smart home features.   We are especially grateful for our relationships with the painters, electricians, plumber and floor finishers who helped us along the way and not to mention our lumber supplier in PA for sending us great specimens to work with.
